About Dan Miressi
Dan is a home grown candidate for Connecticut’s Congressional District 4. Born in Norwalk in the summer of 1989, he went on to grow up in Monroe where his father was the town Post Master. He spent his formative youth hockey years playing at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport, where Jim Drury, the father of Rangers’ Legend, Chris Drury, taught him how to skate. Dan graduated from Trumbull High School (THS) in 2007. He attended THS after being selected for, and completing, the National FFA Organization Agricultural School program where he was taught plant science, mechanical engineering for farm equipment, food science, and agricultural foundations. This program taught Dan to value natural law and have an appreciation for the hard work that provides the basic needs for life to survive. He was a four-year letterman in Varsity Hockey, also winning a Varsity Lacrosse Championship for the school.
In the summers, Dan split time between Stamford at his grandparents, Weston with his Aunt, Uncle and cousins, and camp in North Conway, NH at Camp Marist where the values gained through FAA truly originated but were not nearly as appreciated as they were now.
Following an accomplished High School hockey career, Daniel went on to Framingham State University where he majored in History with a minor in Education. He was a member and instrumental leader of the Framingham State Rams Men’s Ice Hockey Team (NCAA Division III), where he was a three-time All American Hockey Player, a three-time All Conference (MASCAC) Hockey Player, an NCAA All Academic recipient, and named the 2010 NCAA Division III Rookie of the Year Award. He spent his off-ice time as a Volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Before settling back in Connecticut, Dan went on to play professionally in the minor-leagues with stints in the East Coast Hockey League, the Southern Professional Hockey League, and the Federal Prospects Hockey League.
Preferring to coach hockey and work with his hands, Dan has held managerial and leadership positions while working at various Tent and Party Rental companies and The Rinks at Shelton.
In 2022, Dan was tapped to run against Connecticut State Senate Majority Leader, Bob Duff, who held the 25th District seat encompassing the City of Norwalk and Darien. An employee of the U.S. Post Office, the announcement of his run got the attention of the Justice Department and Dan was forced to resign or else he was in violation of the Hatch Act. As such, with the grace of his long-time partner, Dan has made politics his full time job, dedicating himself to running for office to return Citizen First governance to Connecticut, and America at large.
In addition to politics, Dan is the Assistant Coach of the Trumbull High School Varsity Ice Hockey team and a Head Coach with the Connecticut Riverhawks Youth Hockey Association, and a resident hockey coach for the association and at The Rinks at Shelton.
When not busy bringing in a youthful new energy to Republicanism in Connecticut, you can find Dan playing guitar, hiking with his 13 year old beagle-corgi mix Koho and two Shiba Inu puppies, and reading. He also runs a youth sports program through the Color A Positive Thought organization located in Trumbull Gardens, a housing project within the City of Bridgeport.
